when it comes to looking up AFL or NRL on google, the AFL runs rings around NRL
5. BATTLE OF THE BRUTES
Which Australian footy code is officially the most popular? The AFL. By a mile. Before you go off your rocker, soccer fans, even "football" didn't come close.

i thought we already did this for the RLWC, and you lot had a cry it was going amazingly saying crap like "oh internet searches dont mean shit"
in any case, AFL stands for a few things in america besides fumbling such as
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Football_League
http://www.arenafootball.com/
which skew results in AFLs favour.

also i love how my phone provides me with articles about my Wests Tigers as well as upcoming fixtures through Google Now, along with the Chiefs and Miami Heat.
No option for AFL clubs though.... worlds tiniest sport indeed.....

That's right, because Google is a competitor to the AFL's main sponsor - Telstra!!

A few yrs ago some **** on BF was boasting of 15 million AFL players in the USA.
Seems the term AFL refers to
American Football League,
or Arena Football League.
Same principle applies when searching for AFL on google.
