not to condone violence, in any way, but after a year of a number of violent incidents, Newcastle nights player russell packer, gets what he deserves 2 years jail for hitting a bloke. prehaps this will send a message to many of the other NRL thugby heroes that like to hitting people. no other code in Australia has the violent culture like the NRL does with a large number of off field incidents occurring regularly to follow suit.

Newcastle Knight rugby league player Russell Packer has been jailed for two years for assault, dismaying the Kiwi enforcer and prompting his lawyers to lodge an immediate appeal.
Packer looked to his supporters, which included his partner and a number of Knights officials, in distress before he was led away in handcuffs from a Downing Centre Local Court on Monday.
You added fuel to the fire by attacking a man lying motionless on the ground, punching him and then standing up and stomping on his head

Earlier Packer, 24, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm after he bashed a man during a booze-fuelled night last year, with the court hearing he had stomped on his victim's face as the man lay motionless in Martin Place in Sydney's CBD.

prehaps this will send a message to many of the other NRL thugby heroes that like to hitting people
no other code in Australia has the violent culture like the NRL does with a large number of off field incidents occurring regularly to follow suit.

Dave, why is it that the NRL players get more publicity? Because it's the nature of that pathetic game they play! King hits in AFL have been wiped out as they should be, but there have been NONE off the field - unlike the NRL.

Fumblers think their players are angels.Yet they seem to have more problems than RL.
They point the finger at behaviour or Pokies when the exacct same happens in their sport.
& then the dumb dumb(my apologies to the dumb people out there for lumping you with these braindead flogs)try to take the moral high ground.

Society has problems with violence, usually associated with alcohol.

At least the AFL and most other sports have recognised this and have taken steps to eliminate reckless acts of thuggery from their games. The NRL is decades behind.

Dont deflect.
This isnt about ON FIELD Violence.
This thread was supposed to show ...in Adams words.

NRL thugby heroes that like to hitting people. no other code in Australia has the violent culture like the NRL does with a large number of off field incidents occurring regularly to follow suit.

WE are taking OFF field ,& Adam & his less than Averge IQ sidekick tried to claim that it was a RL probem & AFL players dont do that.

I just showed how fucking moronically stupid they are.
How they live in an insular bubble where NRL BAD ,AFL good..

They were shown up as being very very wrong so dont fucking defend them when they start stupid threads , get shown up as not having much of a clue about anything.

If I had a choice - turning my back on an NRL player and turning my back on an AFL player - I'd turn my back on the AFL player. It's safer.

I didnt defend their stance. As I said, society has a problem with violence, irrespective of the persons background.
