Hmmmm , I reckon including nt may have been ambitious. Would be close if nt wasn't included. Does Adelaide even have a state league?

Can some one actually post it ... I think world of wookie has nz participation with most being the 6 week kiwi kick. I'll have a look. I did post the Victorian numbers but can't remember what it was for rl.

After one of the gutless big mouths takes the bet.

But like last time I wont hold my breath.

Does participation in a 6 week programme count as participation.

just as an example
theres over 2700 club registered RL players in Victoria alone & 50,000 participants based on what the VFL calls a participant anyway
theres about half that many club registered players in NZ , some 1500 & about 30,000 participants.


add the other minda states ( 9000 registered players all up in the sthn states ) & its a shellacking
factor in touch & It starts to become a bit laughable :_<> :_<> :_<>

VFL is the worlds tiniest sport
I don't know why anyone would be surprised by these numbers

I'll stick my oar in on this one, given that I know that NRLC has blocked AFLC - and as always when I post in here I'll deal in facts.

Number of Thugby competitions outside of New South Wales and Queensland;
Victoria: 3 (20 clubs). One league is presently inactive so it can be argued that it's 2 and 17 clubs. But that inactive league is supposed to be back in 2014 so I'll err to the higher number.
South Australia: 1 (10)
Western Australia: 2 (15)
Tasmania: 1 (5)
Northern Territory: 3 (at least 7). Darwin rugby appears to be inactive as the NTRL site at Sporting Pulse is gone. The number 7 comes from the Alice Springs and Katherine comps only as the one on the Gove Peninsula doesn't give club numbers.

Number of Football competitions in New Zealand;
North Island: 3 (13)
South Island: 2 (6)

Totals;
Football heartland: 10 Leagues - at least 57 clubs
New Zealand: 5 Leagues - 19 clubs

In NRLC's defence, he didn't make a straight up statement that they were equal. He said "I'll bet", which insinuates that he didn't really know and he was just guessing. It was a nice try, but in the end it was a bit outlandish - even without including NT.
