Now that all the draft's, free agencies are out of the way like to ponder what we can expect from 2014 from GWS.
Top 8 not in any order
Sydney Swans
Hawthorn
Freo
Richmond
North Melbourne
Geelong
Adelaide
Collingwood
Top four to miss out
Carlton
Essendon
Port Adelaide
WCE
But this is the real point of this thread where GWS will end up in the bottom 6
Western Bulldogs
Gold Coast
GWS
Brisbane
Melbourne (sorry Dee's don't see enough coming in to make a big difference)
St.Kilda
What do you think?

There's game in Round 2 that is going to have a big say in it.
St Kilda v GWS at Etihad.
The Giants could win that and if they do you might be right, Swans. But if they lose it I think they'll have trouble getting off the bottom of the ladder.

Yes I think it will have a big say - Saints may struggle in the ruck and against GWS 3 prong attack (Cameron, Patin and Boyd - albeit Boyd and Patton will take some time to adjust). Getting Shaw, Hunt Lamb and Addison. Thats a lot of experience coming wherese the Saints just list too much experience.

I don't agree that Gold Coast will be in the bottom six. They're going along nicely and could be a chance to make the eight if other results fall their way. The team to drop into the bottom since will be West Coast.
I also think that the only clubs pretty much "guaranteed" of making the top 8 are Hawthorn, Sydney, Fremantle and Geelong. The rest - you can raffle it!!

No I don't think so, gentlemen. Something's screwy at Princes Park and I don't think Malthouse has worked it out. They'll be in the raffle mid ladder.

What about Saints? They are going to struggle, or the Don's if players receive infractions, not convinced with Melb or Lions. I think your just going after GWS because it suits KE

The game I mentioned will dictate the Saints year as well as the Giants.

Hawthorn are the team to beat at present. Essendon may struggle, particularly if they lose players as a result of the ASADA investigation. St Kilda will definitely struggle although I agree that the game against GWS will have a big say in both club's seasons.
I expect Adelaide and Port Adelaide to struggle early as they adjust to the Adelaide Oval. It's a very different ground to AAMI Stadium.

No, I genuinely believe GWS are pretty bad. I've always said they need 8 decent senior players to be considered as competitive. They're building but still a long way off. Melbs are so bad they provide gws some comfort but still gws for mine for the spoon.

After what I saw in the practice matches (yes I know they might not mean much but anyway) I think St.Kilda are in big trouble. So I'm making this call right now. Definite prediction rather than the vague one NRLC gave.
The loser of St.Kilda v West Sydney in Round 2 will get the wooden spoon.

I really don't think it's wise to go off practice match form. Saints have grown seasoned men in their squad. Gws are still a mish mash of talented junior, many of which, through history, we know will not go on to greatness or even a high standard at the AFL. Gws still last for mine, followed by melbs.
