RLWC v AFL draft. which has more media/public interest?

I did a quick google search for the "RLWC" under news for the last 24hrs and got
738 results. For the last week it showed
4,980 results
A then searched for news stories on the "AFL draft" within the last 24 hrs and got
2,200 results, and
13,660 results for the last week.
Wow, any theories? What's wrong with this search? Surely the annual AFL draft has far less interest than the pinnacle of RL, the world cup.

as I said
you can post as many stories about the stick insect draft as you want
no one north of the murray
has or will read them
as they have no interest in these shirtlifters .... or the fumbling bumbling shit sport they play

so essentially your theory is that AFL states are more interested in the AFL draft than NRL states are interested in their preferred sport's World Cup?
That's pretty sad. Want to have another go?

Simple really.
The RLWC has been on TV for the last 4 weeks .Fans can watch the pre match show,a live game or the replay ,to get all their news.
No need to be searching on the net when it is right there in your loungeroom.
the stick insect swap has not got the same TV coverage ..not even close,so derpers have to get online to find out if Srawney pick 27 is going to Barrelaide.

its not about people searching the net. The google news covers all news stories, so it's media interest essentially.
The RLWC is at the pointy end of the tournament, so the interest should be increasing. Yet it's been swamped by the AFL draft, a modest AFL event, from a news worthy aspect anyway.

You are an idiot! In Melb there has been DAILY newspaper articles - radio interviews - AND TV news segments on potential draftees. Haven't seen ONE article or mention of RLWC - not saying they haven't mentioned it but the reality it it's obviously not newsworthy enough to have it on all the time! You make so many generalised statements its bizarre - Melb is not QLD and Perth is not Sydney how about you stick to where you live rather than make statements so general it applies to everywhere!

Then how do you explain the NSW and Queensland competitions in the places I have named, Dave?

thank you for confirming that most NRL fans are basement dwelling virgins, with nothing else in life, crap1!
most people in society have jobs and a life, not every one can sit at home on there ass watching a nonsense tournament like the RLWC on tv.
people search search for information on the internet to catch up on the news & buy the search results the AFL draft & trading period, is popular than NRL's pride and joy WC tournament that all you bumsniffing fans keep beating their chest over on how popular it is

The news feature of google counts the news items on the internet, not the searches. The count shows for this week the AFL draft was reported in the news far more than the RLWC.

Doesn't settle anything because it's an unreliable source, ParraEel!
