Come on TF forumers lets get your predications for the AFL V NRL grand finals tv figures, it sure will be interesting when considering no swans to inflate the AFL figures and no storm or QLD teams for the NRLs.

Lets keep this simply an all australian affair (so no NZ), and also the tv figures for the actual games only (no pre game or post game crap)...

And lets try to keep the bias outter it as much as possible...

An interstate GF always rates highly for the AFL.
And a maiden attempt by Fremantle will ensure a lot of interest.
WA will be massive. SA will be better than usual (Pavlich).
Swans have an affinity for the Dockers so NSW should be better than usual and QLD a bit better than usual.

Two NSW teams in the NRL GF equates to a fairly ordinary interest especially with Manly there.

AFL to do well in the pre-game, game and post-game.

I think the VFL would be quite worried about a minnow outfit that has next to zero appeal outside of WA making their decider

there will be record .. low ... ratings in NSW the ACT & QLD as finding hens teeth would be easier found then a fan of the mob from Perth that made it in these states

I'd doubt the fumbles bumbles & missing GF will get to any of the 3 SOO TV audiences the Smallest being 3.850 Million
something around 3.5 to 3.6 Million should pull it up.. for as we know , theres no fudgey dodgey pay ratings for their GF is there , so they can't
artificially inflate their numbers like they do all year round

the NRL on the other hand can't lose with the 4 teams left in their prelims
& if Souths make it ( and they probably will)
well then put yr glasses down as a pounding will be delivered to the VFL ... by the NRL... again
the interest will be culpable if Souths get into the big dance from Cooktown to Wagga Wagga , plus its a 7pm kickoff as well so I expect healthy interest from the Sthn States ....
so 4 Million is not out of the question for a Bunnies V ?? GF

Nothing could be further from the truth.
Dockers Vs Swans final rated incredibly high.

I'll be honest. It'll be very close. What no one is considering is how many will watch the NRL to see Manly get beat. They are hated with a passion almost equal to the hatred aimed at Collingwood. And they won't go so they'll watch it on the box.

I'll lean just slightly towards the AFL if only because WA will rate it's boots off.

I think the nrl as Sunday night prime time and public holiday next day in nsw and qld means people will have a night with it . If we are keeping the guesses made with regionals out and go by the actual 5 city metro ratings AFL will win as it has all year and has always .

we won't of course be leaving the regionals out
& by that measure

the NRL will win comfortably if South Sydney are involved & it won't matter who they're playing
the Roosters or Newcastle
