in my best Pauline Hanson impersonation

Please explain......

the Swines in 2003 almost ten years ago to the day last night , drew a crowd of 72,394 to ANZ against Collinsfart
the Swines weren't the premiers :-k

last year they drew 46,000 to the same clash on a cold winter night
again
they weren't the premiers last year & no one really thought they were doing enough to win the title anyway

yesterday on a balmy glorious ... spring type night in Western Sydney
as the defending premiers of the fumbles n bumbles , the bench mark .. the comp favourites

up against the self anointed world famous Melbourne suburb of Collinmond, biggest team in the universe apparently :-k .. who brought about 10K fans with them

they attracted just
42,000 8-[

ahhhhhhhh
so Fumblers

where have the fans of the supposed most popular team in NSW gone in the last 10 years ? :?>
where have they gone since last year 8-[

30,000 fans who were there watching ten years ago
these days couldn't give a fuck about the fumbles n bumbles .. even when the Swines are the premiers
I mean imagine if they were just mid table :-k

thoughts fumblers ....?

wow
the decline, the massive decline
tis there for all to see

This is quite simple. Ten years ago ANZ was a new novelty, people were excited to go and see matches there. But over time Swans fans have come to hate that stadium. It's awful, out of the way, has terrible views, seats are very far from the action, etc. They much prefer the SCG, and are voting with their feet. If you think it's indicative of anything other than the novelty of ANZ wearing off you're deluded. Swans crowds overall are up this year. But let me draw a parallel to cement my point. When ANZ was a new stadium the nRL got 104,583 to a double header between Dragons, Eeels, Manly and Newcastle. Those teams don't draw crowds even approaching those numbers anymore. If the drop in crowds at ANZ shows the AFL in decline, it shows the nRL in decline too.

Nothing supposed about it. Simply fact. Swans are the highest drawing team in Sydney.

Swans: 27,395
Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs 20,939
Sydney Roosters 20,165
South Sydney Rabbitohs 17,532
Cronulla-Sutherland 13,708
Manly-Warringah 13,434
Parramatta 12,855
St George Illawarra Dragons 12,575
Wests Tigers 11,413
Penrith Panthers 10,862

That answer is spot on. Didn't an NRL double header get 110k back in the early anz days? Definitely stadium novelty

It must suck knowing the Swans are bigger than every nRL club in NSW.

This is a BS thread - Swans remain the BIGGEST CLUB IN SYDNEY - largest Crowd average - largest membership and largest sponsorship - this thread is dedicated to sour grapes by RL fans !

Whether he is or isn't, I think that Australia soccer is very arrogant and say they match euro teams. Please. You're smoking some shit because Harry kewell can barely have a start in a game

You're new, Jacky. The comment was intended to attack the RL supporters because they claimed that Kewell hates AFL, and yet he was in attendance at Metricon and even had his photo taken with G.Ablett Jnr, wearing a Suns scarf.

Eels, the NSW Blues are not a club so they don't count.
