So you're telling me the only way RL in Australia can possibly try and compete with the AFL, yet still fail, is to exclude Melbourne....... :(/ :(/ :(/

Oh Dave, AFL rules every sport in attendance comfortably. In fact why don't you add all their attendances together and see if they get close? :(/

lol so let me get this right, for international matches get good crowds, Australians like to turn up to.
yes you are right the AFL is only played in australia but dominates its own market. the AFL gets reguraly gets good crowds 80 to 90 k for when the big teams play.
the NRL leagues national comp cant attact a crowd more than 20 k with 2 sydney sides playing! being played Australia biggest marked most populated state :(/
nrl is nothing but a joke, if it wasn't for the packer family being league fans, pumping it down our throats, league would be less popular than it is today!

The most idiotic argument ever!

The average home and away NRL game is also far cheaper than rep games and on average probably cheaper than AFL. Why arent they well attended if cheap as chips?? Like the massive 7k that attended NRL last night in RL heartland!

Nice self ownage there eelsofdunce :(/
