The nRL game in Sydney yesterday was smashed by the Swans crowd on the same day and it's not even AFL heartland.

zero states
zero countries... unless you count PNG?
That's it for that outcast English poor mans sport.

But on a serious note, crowds are not as high as they used to be in Darwin for AFL (that's the league, not the game) because of popularity of the NEAFL. Simply the thunder are getting nrl like crowds to their games onb a regular basis. ABS says AFL is booming in the NT.

Yes a fair point here Dave. Whilst in darwin 2 years ago i noticed much support for RL. The SoO was advertised all over the joint but in the bars i frequented (nightcliff and the city) there was generally an equal number of folk watching RL and marngrook. There's also plenty of RL fields and clubs up there. Yes, its a common misperception that Darwin is marngrook heartland. It's not.
