You know, we football fans often throw a lot of derision at our throwball counterparts regarding their appalling crowds, but I have to give credit where it's due. To get 90,553 to a single game this week is a fantastic effort, falling just short of the 93k that attended the AFL Anzac day game this year.

Oh wait. Sorry, my mistake. That wasn't 90,553 to a single game, that was 90,553 to an ENTIRE ROUND OF FOOTBALL. Eight matches, for a total of 90k!



Throwballers have been having a disproportionate amount of fun at the expense of GWS' crowds lately, so let me just break down your crowds for you as a timely reminder of what a joke your sport is.

No games over 20k. Not one. Nada. Zip. Zilch. North v Crows got over 20k. Saints v Dogs got over 20k. Hawks v Suns got over 20k. Hell even Port v Geelong got over 20k.
Three games under 7k. HAHAHAHAH. One was in a regional area, which does't really count, but the other two were in Sydney and NZ.
Seven games under 13k. Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

GWS are an expansion team in an expansion market getting thrashed by 100 points every week. Your joke league is established and was playing in your supposed heartland. The next time you no neck dog molesters have a dig at GWS' crowds, you'd do well to remember that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

our worst teams on their worst day would not embarrass themselves & our sport like the midgets do weekly to the VFL

& I'm still waiting for bad weather to hit a midgets home game in Sydney
they have been blessed with some great sunny weather
it won't last

crowds of 1500 don't occur in the NRL
but they will though in the VFL on this day

the NRL wont put any more new teams in the competition that is not outside of NSW or QLD, that is not expansion, at least the AFL is attempting to make inroads to NRL heartland. considering that the Giants are getting better membership & near crowd figures than that of pre established clubs like Penrith & Pararrmatta, & wests tigers, they arnt doing so badly

melbourne storm cant get a crowd of 11k thats with being the reigning premiers, & world champions
or more with out offering a buy one ticket and get one free.
