Australian Football is simply the most Spectacular

People watch their various sports and they each have their own attractions but Australian Football when it is played well has just about everything you'd want.
Was there at Subiaco when Nic Nat, telegraphed the big leap onto the pack to take the clinch mark, walks back, siren sounds and slots the winning goal. It reminded me of McPharlins mark and goal for the Dockers. The crowd was roaring so loud that the club's song couldn't be heard and nobody left the ground for some time. Who can forget Leo Barry's saving mark in the 2005 GF.
Yes, other sports may have their attractions but Australian Football has it all.

Amazing scenes on tv last night when Nic Nat got that goal. Must have been awesome being there cos. It's a wonderful game our Australian one. No surprises why so many millions of Aussies love it. Spot on with your assessment ;-)

Today we had the Brisbane Lions win a dramatic and unexpected win.
18 lead changes.
Does that sort of vibrancy occur in tother football codes?
No.
They don't even score 18 times.(in other codes)

It's little wonder the Storm get shit crowds. Compared to Australian Football, thugby league is slow, boring and repetitive. Good sport for simpletons I guess.

Interesting article in courier mail today by a rl guy lamenting the same thing. Also the lack of scoring . Did you know put of something like 144 halves of football something like 42 had no scoring (maybe it was one team not sure) but he talked of how predictable the game had come . I walking on the beach in a beautiful autumnal day ... So will try and find link later ... If can be bothered.

There have been that many blowouts in the nRL this year it's little wonder that fans are complaining. Their comp can't expand because the talent pool is too thin. Growth is stagnant, while game quality seems to have declined. It's the slow demise of rugby league.

yes ... our fans aren't entirely happy
we never are
always seeking the truth , the real situation ... never taking anything on face value
if the NRL told us we were expanding tomorrow
&
most of the games profits will be used to prop up 2 new shit teams for the next decade , & that will mean many present teams will also be shit & talentless for that period of time
the NRL HQ building at Moore Park would be in ashes 5 minutes later with Dave Smith hanging from a branch on one of those lovely birch trees there

NRL fans
smart ... & not easily fooled

VFL fans
dumb fucks

Well AFL has three teams unlikely to make finals at this stage. Over 100 so far have watch the AFL in Sydney on ftA alone this week. There is a massive leauge in Sydney alone .. 5 leagues I think just for Sydney and surrounds ... That's 5 leagues not clubs ... Leagues .. Do someone's filling up those clubs in Sydney . Suns make a profit ... Gws I'm not sure ... Few businesses make profits in first year or two due to start up costs etc. the guy complaining was saying how play was predictable . Played between the 20 Meyer lines or something ?? Anyway, expanding in non traditional markets is tough ... Doesn't mean it shouldn't be tried. Look at the swans now ... Highest attendees sport in Sydney ... AFL now in the news regularly, kids a d adults playing the game every week at high levels , membership high as ever, etc . Doing quite well ... But when started getting rl type crowds ... Or giant type crowds ... If the AFL had of pulled out they wouldn't be as big in Sydney as they are now .

Last night we had the Swans Vs the Dockers play out an exciting draw.
No other code can match the excitement of an Australian Football game when the scores are level.
When every single action can be difference between winning and losing.
So close.
All the Dockers had to do was punch the ball through little sticks yet Sam Reid takes a game saving mark .
