Does Western Sydney not have a large amount of recent immigration from areas where there is a lot of support for soccer? If so would these people possibly support the Western Sydney Wanderers? I suspect that the answer to both those questions is yes and that is what Kevin was suggesting (agree his statement was poorly constructed). Now perhaps you should apologise for suggesting that Kevin is racist. He is a stupid, big nosed, fat headed, loud mouthed dinosaur, whos time should have come to an end 10 years ago, but in no way a racist.

You need to be careful Eels. There are a few things you should never accuse a person of being without any proof. Being a racist is one of these things. I now see with the correct quote that the comments were directed at the fans and Im not defending the comments, it is in poor taste and bady said with a big hint of jealous thrown in, however it is in no way racist. Get out there and do some research on the Man that is Kevin Sheedy. I dont like him because of his Essendon connections however if you look closely you will see he is probably the last person in the world you would call a racist. Here Eels let me help you out. This was the gist of what he was trying to say although he said it poorly. The Wanderers have a lot of support from families that have followed soccers for generations and in some cases from families that have immigrated recently from areas which have a great love for soccer. Therefore the Wanderers have had a good fan base to begin with in their first year. The GWS team has had little natural support in Western Sydney and it will be a long time before they have any support in Western Sydney, if at all.
This is what he was implying with his comments. Now you can do what some are doing and try to twist those words to make them out to be racist or you can look at the Man and look into his history and see what he really was saying. Your call mate. Hopefully you are a bigger man then Dave.

Yes in just a few brisk words sheedy has summed up and further isolated the afls position vis a vis multicultural Australia. It is actually quite polarising what he said, its quite anti rather than inclusive of immigration. Wasn't part of the tsunamis plan to pick up a fan base in west sydney? Raider is right pies that sort of comment belongs back in the 50s and all it's done is further what they ironically call the 'Australian' game from the reality and beauty of this country being a multicultural country. Sorry Pete but kelvin didnt say that at all. If he wanted to say that, he should of. Instead the fool generalised and incorrectly suggested that all the Wanderers supporters are recent immigrants.

If I was a recent immigrant who'd taken to GWS and had been supporting them since my arrival, I'd hear Kelvins comment and go > and then seeya kelvin ya dumb dick im off to support the wanderers.
