Interesting stat. The image puts into perspective why the fat bastards of NRL are so out of shape.

This is why there's no fat players in the AFL. You can't be obese and play professional sport, unless you play in the nRL, NFL or rugby union.

& yet RL players run longer distances

14 divded by 3 is 4.7 K's an hour

10 divided by 2 is ............5 K's an hour

RL players
bigger
faster
stronger

fitter

No one's denying that nRL players are bigger. Fat arses are the norm in that neanderthals sport.

well RL matches don't go for 2 hrs either
it doesn't matter how you try & spin it

RL players run further based on that graph
& when you factor in 15 interchanges to 1 .. its just embarrasing for the girly Victorian game
thanks Bearsy for that

If your stats are wrong then how is it spin? :-k

The fact that Hunt and Folau were exhausted after half time in their early AFL matches shows that the fitness of AFL players is much higher than nRL players.

the fact is
vicky kicky goes for 50% longer then a game of RL
& they don't run ... much farther

&

they get interchanged 15 times more

Hunt & Izzy got exhausted .. cos they weren't allowed to eat
Vicky Kicky players are skinny little sheilas who trot around like twats all game... fumbling bumbling & missing

RL players are power athletes
they could snap a vicky kciky player in half like a twig ...... & you know it

Fact is, the only people who have played both codes struggled badly for fitness in the AFL, while they both managed to dominate the nRL.

That's all that needs to be said.

is their any more to that article?
average kms speed the players run.
NRL is a lot more walking and slow pace jogging with the occasional burst of speed, smaller field to cover
AFL, alot more sprinting and far bigger area to cover,
the players have far different body types for reasons.
NRL plays are to bulky to play AFL, eg carmichael hunt had been in the AFL system for 2 years now and still cant see out a game.
AFL players are to light weight to play NRL

It would depend what position the AFL player played too I would think. A mid would do 19 klms easy.

Playing time for for rl and AFL is now BOTH 80 minutes.
Not only does the average AFL player run further but as dodgey dave pointed out, because of the interchange function of the AFL. an AFL player spends LESS time on the ground to run FURTHER.
Thanks again dave for your input showing the superioty of AFL over rl.
