It doesnt automtically mean more crowds. If the NRL added another team in NZ and another in Melbourne this would devide the existing RL fans in these areas between the existing club and the new clubs. Just like some fans have gone from the swans to the giants, and from the lions to the suns.
The net result would not be more crowds, just one more game and 2 smaller crowds. In fact if the number of rounds didnt increase it would also mean less local derby games and less games in heartland states which could even drop the total audience.
However, if the total audience goes up like the AFL have seen this year, this is more fans in total, new fans that hadnt attended the games in previoua years. GROWTH! =D>

its one of numerous reasons. Of course some AFL supporters have changed from the swans to the giants, like people who live in western Sydney. Or are you suggesting their 7000 new members from WS are all new AFL fans? :D

Here I will respond for Dave. This is what he would say:
Not a chance Xman. They are expat Vicks who have moved to Sydney and the goldcoast in 2011 and 2012 for the sole purpose of turning up to Vicky kicky games to artificially inflate the numbers at the game. Oh yeah I forgot they also are there to enrol their kids into 10 vickkick classes for each child on the weekends, to make VFL look bigger then the microscopic shit stain that it is in NSW and Qld.
