This article has a graph that shows in 1995 the AFL had 1.8m unique spectators, or 13.3% of the population, and last year they boasted a massive 2.8m unique spectators, an increase of 2.9% of the population. =D>
Meanwhile the NRL in 1995 had 1.4m unique spectators, at 10.4% of the population. It only increased to 1.5m viewers in 2012 which is 8.9% of the population. This is a decrease of 1.5% of the population!
AFL growing in popularity by 2.9% of the population, or an extra 1 million people. The NRL declining in spectators by 1.5% of the population

When I saw that article I thought "an independant source confirms that AFL is well out in front, that AFL is increasing and NRL dec reasing - time to close TFC" !!!
Then dave comes along an attempts to re-write the facts as usual.
That's a tough one. Who doi we believe - dave or a well respected independant source ?
.

That's attendance, not unique spectators.
Any other lame excuses?

That source is misleading, it does not include the recently signed 1.025b TV deal from the NRL or the NZ sky deal. Also that source does not include our new sponsors for the Competition (Holden). also does not include the 62m dollars that Tom Waterhouse has paid.
That source does not included any revenue gained from the last 6 months.

Yeah the increase is proven to be all from your simulcast, that is not growth but trickery, something the AFL prides itself on.............
Going to try and do a backdoor deal with Mediawatch this year for ratings increases Xman.............maybe get Julie dillard to help you with that, you Victorians must be proud of your leader.....bahahahaha............
