Yes, 'bout 2000 odd aussies might be looking forward to the next international cup. The rest would prefer watching an event where professional sports persons are involved.

Australian expats aren't allowed to compete in the Australian Football International Cup.

I think there's a fairly massive loophole in the ol 'no expat ruling' there stewie. If my memory serves correctly its something like 2 years in another country and you're not an expat, or, if you receive permanent residency then you're not considered an expat. Do you have any idea how many expats would fit into these rules stewie me boy? Probably in the hundreds of thousands. The international cup...It's jam packed full of aussie expats!

The International Cup is a sporting holiday for amateur to novice unpaid unprofessional sportsmen who are mostly aussie expats.

Onwards and upwards as Aussie migration increases. Going forward on sporting holidays indeed!

Where other pretenders are represented by a fast imploding league in Northern England or where in typical rl form the French are still blaming their demise on the WW VIchy forces.

Ah there's hundreds of thousands in NZ and England who quite enjoy the RL world cup. Add to that figure the same in Aus including brisbane, canberra, newcastle, wollongong, the GC, townsville, etc etc etc...basically all the most populated towns and cities in aus bar melbourne

And all the while the international cup gains no media, and draws a crowd no bigger than a regional RL 3rd division grandfinal
