Yep crowds and membership numbers for the two codes tell you that much. Why is it that the Rebels can attract crowds that the Storm can't at the very same home ground/stadium?

the storm had an advert age of 12,685 per game in the home and away season  =D>
so going buy those figures the storm and rebels are par.
considering the rebels where only founded in 2010, & the storm 1998, you could say that the rebels have generated a great deal of interest in 3 years as to the storms 15.
with all of the storms success, & the endless useless articles the herald sun (news limited) runs on them to generate interest some interest, is further proof most people dont give a shit about the storm or the nrl, in melbourne

You could also argue that with the Storm's recent success that they are on a bandwagon high of support. Compare that with the Rebels who have struggled every season, that would also be a tick in the favour of the Rebels with a similar amount of support with no bangwagon as of yet.

Plus the fact the NRL is on FTA while the RU isnt.

bandwagon

what a cockhead

the Storms support in the main are their rusted on hardcore fans
they have about 10K

the task for them is to grow this number
the main reason they haven't to date , is the abject fear Victorians have of RL & its potential to swamp their silly little game
its their parocialism & insecurity .. & some ignorance too
but they won't hold out forever

you can't help but admire this " franchise "
its winning culture
its star players
its coach
Australias best sporting outfit
Melbournes " only " ... world champion sporting team =D> =D> =D>

Victorians following their VFL clubs with clutures that are rampant wall to wall mediocrity
that won't progress, ney .. can't progress due to the imbalance between the stronger haves
& the weaker have nots
& the massive ridiculous leg ups given to sides in NSW & QLD

will tire of this BS
& warm ... to the Storm , a winning team with a great record of success that appears to have no end in sight

Overall popularity across the nation sure, but we're comparing RU and RL in Melbourne. Clearly the RU are more popular despite not being on FTA
