it just never ends with this low game
this to add to the multitude of off season disasters for this declining code

BREAKING NEWS: ESSENDON has called on the AFL and ASADA to assist an investigation into its 2012 fitness program. At a hastily called media conference this afternoon, Bombers chairman David Evans said the club has received information about supplements given to players over the past 48 hours.
They would not reveal where the information came from.
Essendon say they have contacted AFL integrity officer Brett Clothier and Australian Sports and Drug Authority as a result.
"The integrity at the club is critical, and that's why we've moved quickly to contact the AFL," Evans said.
"Of course this is a very distressing time for our club, we believe as a club we have done everything right to be compliant with the AFL and ASADA.
"We have moved quickly to call the AFL and ASADA to seek a clean bill of health.
"The info we gathered over the last 24 or 48 hours is slightly concerning, and we want to dig a bit deeper but we want the AFL to help us.
"We believe we have acted in a sensible and proper way.
Bombers coach James Hird said he was disappointed with the situation.

"I'm shocked to be sitting here," he said.

"As a coach I take full responsibility for what happens in our footy department.

"It's my belief we've done everything right."
Essendon will hold a press conference at AFL House at 2.45pm AEDT.
A former Essendon player told Channel 9 that the club knew it was pushing the boundaries with its program.
"From what they were saying, it was right on the borderline of what they were going to give us," he said.
"Everyone signed it, it was a personal choice as to whether they took it.
" ... it does seem very odd the type of stuff we were taking.
"They admitted to us it was right on the edge of the levels you could be taking."

Essendon initiated the investigation after an accusation from an ex player who was delisted. Nothing is known yet.

Raiderdave and his usual problem...going way too early!

they knew they'd get caught after the whistle blower ex player , threatened to let the cat out of the bag , about this seedy . filthy scummy club & his hideous cutlure of drug taking ... so are trying to make it look as though they are on the front foot

the VFL should ban them from the 2013 season
make them play for no points like the Storm had to in 2010

but alas

it will be a thrashing with a wet lettuce for this mob
& hardly surprising from the disgusting ... vile ... drug infested VFL [-X [-X [-X [-( [-( [-(

get caught? Their sports scientist gave recovery supplements. He got fired mid year last year for his poor performance overall. The ex player Kyle Reimers doesn't know for sure what supplements he took. All he said is he thought it was unusual. Essendon have gone straight to ASDA to ensure they get the matter sorted out officially. They deal the penalties, not the AFL. If ASADA find them guilty theyll cop a penalty. If not theyre fine. That's unless you're now claiming ASADA fudge?

You're wrong on almost every count, as usual.

 Now it's an entire club going for the ol' own up first and you get off scot free loophole! And it's Xman's favowit club!

What an absolute shmozzle this organisation, the AFL, has gotten itself into. It's as clear as day folks. It starts from the top and is trickling on down through to the bottom i.e. essendon. The fatcats down at AFL HQ are chompin doughnuts and dreaming up ridiculous policies. I mean this isnt primary school where the teacher should teach good morals and put in place rules/policies for students to 'own up' for what they did wrong. We're talking about fukkin adults and a multi million dollar organisation here.

Really KE? There have been no positive tests. Why would Essendon demand an investigation if they were complicent?

I think youre assuming they are guilty. What if they arent?

 We all know why! Read the article again Xman. Your question is so very dumb and you've effectively punctuated it with the word 'complicent'.

Why? Why wouldnt they attempt to cover it up since there were no positive tests?

What if the supplement was legal?

Oh dear you really are quite simple arent you. 'Secret locations'. 'Signing wavers'. 'The players didnt know what they were taking'. It's shadier than eddie obeid in the amazon, dodgier than shane warnes 'my mum gave it to me' excuse. The poo is in your own pants/pantyhose Xman, put your hand up and admit it!

Yes Essendon and the AFL, Australia's sporting shamejobs.

Youre the naive one for believing the hype #-o

They said on SEN this morning that the "secret location was accross the road from their home base.

Settle down KE, wait for the facts. ASADA are on it now, at the request of the club. The truth will come out and then you can have your fun if its true

You throwballers don't seem to understand how joyous this scandal is. This is like Christmas x100 for non-Essendon supporters. The solemn image of James Hird at the press conference is now my desktop wallpaper. For the first (and hopefully last) time ever, you and I agree Dave, this is a fantastic day. I may overdose on Shadenfreude before the week is done. Suck shit Essendon!

If this is real then at least Geelong and a few other clubs are in deep too. The issue is, Watson may lose his brownlow but Geelong could lose flags

Oh Geelong will be up to their necks in this, and I suspect a few other clubs too :D

and if they go back further the Lions threepeat side and the Weagles of the early 90s and the Kangas of the late 90s weren't exactly clean.

I'm as much an AFL fanatic as the next guy, but today i'm just a footy fan that hates Essendon and hopes Jobe cries when they take away his ill-goten brownlow*

*If he is proven guilty
