A $20 million bank guarantee was a condition of Tinkler's privatisation of the club.

yeah ... to be honest it wouldn't be the worst thing for the Knights .... if they did wind the hunter sports group up
they'd get 20 million put in their bank account 5 mins later
they'd pay their portion of this tax bill & move on
& the 7 Million Grant from the NRL paid in shortly after .... not many clubs start a year with a bank balance like that

with ova 15,000 members already & looking at 25,000 for 2013
the Knights will be fine for a long long time.

And I'm sure there would be other rich people in the area that would jump at the chance to take over the Knights and run them properly, but even if not, the Knights will survive regardless.

Im not a fan of private ownership, in my opinon the Knights should be owned by the people of newcastle or at least their members. Hopefully with their large wads of cash the NRL can make private ownership a thing of the past.
