The code's most influential powerbrokers will meet over lunch at a Brighton Le Sands restaurant on Monday to debate Grant's performance in his first 12 months.
Chairmen of the 16 clubs will be in attendance with other powerful figures including Phil Gould, who launched a blistering attack on the game's leadership last week.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal several club officials have even discussed the possibility of using clause 32B of the game's constitution to remove Grant from the board.

It would be highly unlikely to succeed at this stage because more than 75 per cent of a vote is required.
One of the NRL chairmen phoned me to reveal the growing anger and frustration in the game. He would only be quoted on the condition of
"John Grant is on notice," he said. "The clubs have had enough. He's been the one calling the shots and every day a new problem emerges.

"All they've done in 12 months is a television deal.

"I can guarantee you some of the clubs have got to a stage of having no confidence in the administration."

NRL statement says the club council has "slammed suggestions" that a meeting on Monday was to talk about a revolt against John Grant. #nrl
Bunnies chairman Nick Pappas says "more has taken place in the last twelve months than we have seen in years." #nrl
NRL says Grant and Mattiske were invited to the lunch to celebrate so much being accomplished throughout 2012. #nrl

If they're going to discuss sacking him at the lunch then why would they invite him?

No chance in hell of the clubs removing grant especially after he doubled their club grants.

The players have more reason to be upset with the slow progress of the CBA.

All these negative articles about Grant are by the DT.................mmm i wander what the DT/new ltd would get out of having grant removed from the commission???

Grant is not going anywhere, this is typical crap journalism from slothfield and Co.

http://www.nrl.com/club-council-deny-lo ... fault.aspx
The council will meet Grant and interim CEO Shane Mattiske on Monday and Wests Tigers' chairman Dave Trodden said reports clubs are at odds with the commission are wide of the mark.

"It was largely through the efforts of John Grant and the commission that we established the Club Council as a way for the clubs and the commission to interact," Trodden said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Far from being dissatisfied with the commission or John Grant, the Club Council is supportive of what they are trying to achieve and the fact they are changing the way business is conducted in rugby league."

"The commission has recognised the importance of funding the clubs, laid out a strategic plan, conducted a long-needed review of funding across the wider game, consolidated development, delivered a record season in terms of crowds, a record television rights deal, made hard decisions around refereeing and established a new way of dealing with clubs through the Club Council.

"There are always going to be points of discussion between the council and the commission and that is a healthy part of any relationship, but there is also unwavering support for what the commission is trying achieve and for the role of the chairman."
I wonder which article is more credible, the one written using unnamed sources or the one with actual quotes from club officials.

Your radio rights will be worth fuck all, probably not even 10 million given that the demand to stream nRL matches is nowhere near that of the demand to broadcast AFL matches on radio. As for online, well once again given that the nRL site attracts less traffic to it than the AFL site does (search alexa.com for proof), Telstra will argue that they should pay less for the nRL given that it's an inferior product to the AFL. And lol, good luck getting 100 million from NZ

It won't make a difference in the end, they aren't worth much.
