Yep, that what their fans think. :(/ :(/ :(/
Folau's decision came on the day some of the NRL's biggest stars met with the Australian Rugby League Commission and rejected the latest pay offer increase. There was an immediate backlash from NRL fans on social media blaming the ARLC for not doing enough to bring Folau back to rugby league.

One fan tweeted: "The NRL is an absolute joke."

Stuart had said the club would "move heaven and Earth" to get Folau's signature.

In the end a bigger pay day lured Folau away from rugby league for the second time in his fledgling career, with a more lucrative offer on the table from French rugby.

"It is disappointing that Izzie at this stage has chosen to pursue another path but we've also been clear that we are about having players who are focussed on what we are trying to achieve as a club," Edwards said.

"It is why we had previously ruled out short term appearances with other codes. We are comfortable with our current playing roster ahead of the 2013 season."

NRL interim chief executive Shane Mattiske had met with Folau's representatives even before he announced his departure from the AFL and said he had been discussing salary cap issues with the Eels since then.

"We worked in good faith with the club to ensure that Israel's contract could be met within the cap and it is unfortunate that he has elected to pursue another path," Mattiske said.

"It would have been nice to see Israel back in the NRL because it is the game he is most suited to and the one that I think would have given him the biggest challenge in facing the best athletes in the most exciting contests week in and week out.

"Ultimately though it is his choice and we have to respect that. I think Parramatta has done everything possible and we have certainly worked closely with them in that process."

This guys acted like he left AFL because it was not about the money and had no passion for the game(AFL)...............spoke in the papers that he was willing to take a pay cut to return to NRL......Looks like this guy is another Money Bill Williams. Many in rugby circles think this and they reckon he will fail in rugby like he did in the AFL because he has lost that drive and is just chasing the money now.

Yet fact remains you lot were desperate to get him back playing rugby league. Same with $BW who will now feature in your advertising campaigns.

Absolute joke indeed. The lot of you. Hilarious all the same to watch though.

I tell you what between Izzy and Kurt Tippett we are really getting a crash course in crass greediness displayed by sports men

The latest from Kurt…”I didn’t realise what I was doing was wrong..I blame the Crows!”

Best thing about all these code-hopping shenanigans from Izzy is it will relegate this potentially great sports man and money grubbing sports-turd to nothing more than obscure quiz night answer in the future. Serves him right..When he quits Union in 18 months because ‘his heart’s not in it’ what odds him trying to give football a go? Chad Ochocinco-style That ought to be hilarious…I can’t wait.
I wonder if the NRLPA will use this as ‘evidence’ of the need for the NRL Salary Cap to be raised?
This guy Izzy is a piece of work , he tells Parra and friends at the club some time ago he wanted out of A.F.L., So the saga begins ,Parra have initial talks all sounds good , but wait can;t fit him under the cap , but the whole time Izzy is saying its not about the money i just want to return to NRL , Parra get told no to any concession in breaching the cap , so then other teams come on board and try to see if they can’t aquire his services , but no he tells everyone no i want to play at Parra and i will wait to see the outcome of the players meeting with the commish , in the meantime Parra had come up with a deal that could work and the ARLC was looking at the proposal .
As late as Thursday afternoon the word out of Parra was they thought they had found the answer for all to be happy with , and Izzy should be wearing the blue and gold next year , but wait Friday the guy who tells friends and anyone else that would listen its not about the money says i can earn three times as much over their so see ya and thanks for nothing , I can’t be grudge anyone wanting to do the best they can financially out of sport but wow Izzy is the biggest fibber in sport at the moment , i think he would want to look out for the odd lightning bolt from above what a turncoat , no wonder twitter went into meltdown biggest backflip of the year , i think he should go back to church and learn ye shall not con and lie to get what ye want

Some snippets of what the Fans think of Tippet and Issy, the new sporting reality is starting to hit hard.

To start with I love league and union equally but I don’t get the fuss about Folau. I understand he is a awesome athlete and could possibly be a great in league, but he walked away from league. He purposely misled people by keeping it secret after he signed so he could still play origin and tests despite already signed to chase the money and be the poster boy for AFL. He decided he wanted his cake and to eat it too. Why should the NRL fall over themselves to sign him back? He showed them no respect being the poster boy in the so-called ‘Western Sydney code war”. He understood what his role was going to be. Maybe a year or two on the outer will show other players thinking of chasing the money what could happen
Spot on... =D>

desperate ?

we'd of welcomed him back for sure ......... but desperate to get him back
hardly

Rugby League reigned supreme in Western Sydney without him
nothing is gunna change there

he was all the midgets had though .... the only player most Western Sydneysiders knew
he's gone
as are they

Well done, Par! There may be some anger amongst the league fans who were angry when Izzy went to the Giants, and feel that he's done it again. But after what El said about his weight on the other thread I'm not fussed. In the end I think the NRL isn't a joke because of this. The only losers are Izzy himself and the AFL for unmaking a great rugby player.

"unmaking" Yet the Eels were desperate for him! Seems they thought he could play

Oh come on! It's business common sense. Your competition has lost it's poster boy. Why wouldn't you go after him?

Its your opinion, doesnt make it true, and theres no evidence to suggest it is.

As for poster boy, he was and expansion teams chance to get in the headlines. That lasted all of a few months since his form certainly didnt warrant continued attention. The teams development and coming success will be their next promotional tool, as it was for the storm.
