Private Ownership in the NRL = Disaster for Fans

What a mess private ownership has turned out to be in rugby league circles. Searle and the Gold Coast Titans, Tinkler and the Newcastle Knights, Crowe and the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Murdoch and the Melbourne Storm... the list could go on. All massive failures and losing millions. The poor fans of these clubs are now expected to fix the mess. When will greedy NRL administrators think of their fans first, before dollars that in the end don't eventuate?

Since Tinkler has taken over the knights we have had all our debts slashed. We were able to sign one of the best coaches in the NRL and our Membership prices were slashed making it affordable for many more families than it had been. Tinkler has been nothing but good for the knights and the town of Newcastle and the people up here don't give a fuck what is written in the media

The Titans had a $hit owner. The Bunnies are going great guns and the Storm will shake it's ownership once we get our way with access to Etihad! Don't know about the Knights, but then doesn't Tinkler have an interest in the Jets in the A-League as well? He should off load that if so.

There will be no down side for the Bunnies, X!

Yeah all looks just fine and dandy at the Knights. Just ask the players. :(/ :(/ :(/
ALARM bells are ringing over the future of the Newcastle Knights under the ownership of embattled mining magnate Nathan Tinkler following the revelation the club has fallen behind in player payments.

Leaguecentral.com.au can reveal that monthly salaries have not been deposited into the players’ bank accounts on schedule this morning.

Superannuation payments and office staff salaries have also been delayed in recent months.

A number of players phoned their agents to say the payments due on the 15th of each month had not been paid yesterday.

It definitely wasn't $30 million. So they still have a huge debt.
