about the Swines winning the VFL Grand Final ?
I was in the CBD on the Sunday morning ...... cars passing me left & right .. all flying Dogs flags
walking the streets
not a swines singlet anywhere to be seen ..... not a scarf ... nothing
every 3rd person was in purple
later that night in the pubs I patronised ..... was there any talk about the Swines
nuh
it was all the NRL ....
at breakfast at Darling Harbour
the same
all the talk was NRL.... Slater this .... Barba that .... Hungry pomms chomping on ears .... the Storms magnificent defence
not a mention of the game of fumbles or the Swines
I came to the conclusion that Sydneysiders couldn't care less about the Swines or the silly little Victorian game they play
even when they win its GF

And Im sure whereever you are they are talking league.Only so many places they let the mullet brigade in.Discussion would have been hot at the Rooty hill rsl.

Poor insular league fans. But it would seem they are a lot more opened minded in Qld.Whod of thunk it.

He has to believe in the ridiculous conspiracy theories, it's what's keeping him from going
completely insane. He's almost there regardless though

Not about spelling pookus. The Tsunami the papers talk about simply doesnt exist. Its a bunch of sensationalised rubbish.

In answer to the title of this thread, clearly the NSW Government, Premier of NSW and hundreds of thousands of Sydneysiders do give a stuff.
Friday is going to be massive in the Sydney CBD. Funny how tickertape parades are only ever given to AFL teams in Sydney. :P

Sydney Swans continue premiership party as street parade organised for winning team

YOU know you're in vogue when the Premier is prepared to wait in line for 15 minutes to get an AFL footy record signed.
This is the backdrop to the Swans-fever gripping Sydney, prompting the state government to organise a street parade through the city to honour the clubs spectacularly unexpected premiership victory.
While no Sydney NRL team has ever had a premiership parade through the city, the Swans will have their second in eight years after coach John Longmire's troops pulled off a famous come-from-behind win over Hawthorn at the MCG last week.
Friday's parade through George Street to a reception at Town Hall will begin at 12.15pm.
"Saturday's was a remarkable grand final,'' NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell said.
"It was demonstrated that they were never ever going to give up and we think that that deserves, as it did in 2005, a huge opportunity for Sydneysiders to come out and to pay tribute to all those magnificent players.
"I urge all of Sydney to come out and show their strong support for the Sydney Swans. Can I also say how proud we are, in the 30th year in which the Swans relocated from Melbourne to Sydney, that they've managed to win this premiership.''
As the players' celebrations spilled over into a fourth day, Longmire said they players he has been able to reach are excited to have an opportunity to thank their fans.
"I was fortunate to speak to a few of the senior players, about an hour ago was the first time that I let them know this was going to occur and they were wrapt,'' Longmire said.
"Jude Bolton has been part of this before and he told a few of the other boys that it's one of the best memories he's ever had. There's a few who don't know about it, but I'm sure they'll get word this afternoon.''
The Swans are hopeful of another sea of red and white, like the huge turnout to their 2005 parade through the city.
A recent Roy Morgan poll showed the Swans are the No. 1 supported team in Australian sport with 1,036,000 fans.
