wasn't even close
just 609K Sydneysiders could be bothered watching the Swines fumble bumble & miss their way to a win in the singletball GF
easily the lowest ever in their 4 GF appearances since moving to Sydney & down a staggering 400K on 2005
another sign of this sports huge decline in our nations largest City
meanwhile a massive 803K Melbournians..... tuned into the NRL decider yesterday
the 2nd highest of the storms 5 GF apperances ....
the NRL .. its just compulsory veiwing for everyone it seems
the Mighty Melbourne Storm .. handing the Swines their stones in a champange glass .... again

3hr afternoon telecast v 2hr prime time telecast.
Theres your diffeerence plus more.

You only have to look at the full years ratings to see the difference in support for both teams in their home states.
Having said that, well done to Melbourne for supporting our champion RL team =D> =D> =
But Dave, another drop in NRL GF ratings in Sydney, the 4th in a row.

In fact there was only 400k difference in the NRL v AFL ratings in Sydney, and the NRL was in prime time!

he was talking about GF ratings in Sydney!
Really, 1M in Sydney in prime time for a GF is very poor. Imagine when the storm aren't involved!

3hrs V 2..... how that turn out in the respective pay packets each code got in their TV deals marcus
prime time V not

.... please this garbage argument has been shot down so many times
are people mowing their lawn or doing undies shopping instead of watching your GF ... K?
FMD
the drop in Sydney's ratings was because .. unlike swooning Melbournians who don't mind the Swines ... they're benign ... un controversial .. a bit boring really
so its not against their principals to watch them as they have no state pride ... they easily accept the swines & wouldn't of minded them winning
most Sydneysiders despise the Storm .. hate them .... will not watch them , vomit at the thought in fact
they are considered cheating scum still & they are not anyones 2nd team in RL circles , ... nah ... nothing else is going on with Sydney's GF ratings other then this
the 3 SOO's & yesterday have us well over 4 Million for the 4.... game couldn't be more popular

Prime time is when people are home Dave. This is why shows in prime time rate so much higher compared to other times. This is why the Sunday news rates some of the highest of all programs. This is why the NRL went to evening GF. This is why the highest ever Australian tennis open ratings occurred when they changed from afternoon to evening. But please elaborate on how the prime time reason isnt valid again Dave. I love it when you try this.
3hrs v 2 is for averaging, but Dave Im sure ch7 enjoyed 5 hrs of 4m viewers compared to the ch9s less ratings for less time.
Sydneys NRL GF ratings have dropped each year, despite the storm not being in the GF each year. Heartland!

Ch 7 paid for 3 hrs for each game
Ch 9 paid the same money.... for 2
its obvious NRL veiwers are considered far more valuable customers then VFL ones .... aren't they ?
prime time is when your biggest game of the year is on
like I said
if flogball fans prefer to buff the holden statesmen instead of watching the GF .. your code followers aren't very passionate are they ?
our GF wasn't up against afternoon cartoons & the SBS ballet from Vienna
ours was up against the highest rating weekly show there is .... in the evening news on 7 .. & 10
gee which would one prefer

No, the biggest game was in the arvo
But Dave, that's why all the big shows are scheduled for the afternoon, when everyone's home to watch it.....oh wait.
Seriously, you do realise the NRl rates 300-400k on Sunday arvo, and 600-800k on Friday night..... ?

why is that Dave? Because people aren't working, aren't shopping, aren't playing sport etc etc in the evening. They're home. The casual viewer is home.
Your logic is hilarious!!
