Seems as though there's two common links we should make here. The AFL as an organisation has had several issues re its sponsors and suppliers this year. The org really does do some dealing with shady organisations now doesnt it, and apparently always without knowledge of how shady the orgs it deals with are...

And secondly the AFL is clearly a very frugel organisation, possibly to the point of turning a blind eye to severe injustice in order to make a buck here and there...

One teams sponsor had a CEO that made racist comments. Not sure how youd get around that
As for Sherring, theyve been making footies for years and have obviously changed their manufacturing arrangement. Its not as if the AFL had recently contracted Sherrin. Im not sure any company would regularly investigate the runnings of companies under existing contracts.

Vlad agrees and Sherrin have acted swiftly to correct an obvious oversight. Nothing more to see here. Move along.
Sherrin child labour disgusting, Demetriou says
September 26, 2012
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou says it is "disgusting" that child labour had been used to make some Sherrin footballs in India.
"It's disgusting. As soon as we heard about it we found it completely abhorrent," Demetriou told AFL.com.au.
"It goes against everything that we stand for in this code and this game.
"You can't have that in this day and age, and we've said that to them. They know the damage that this could cause to their brand."
While angry, Demetriou said he was thankful the company had acted swiftly to recall up to half a million Auskick footballs when it became aware of the situation.

You have a short memory(when it suits).
It was quoted in the paper only a few months back.
Heres tbhe Quote
A recruiter from one club told me that 'unless they have a white parent we are not going to draft an Aboriginal player and our club would not be alone in that'.

The guy who that was quoted from has since gotten in trouble for another miss quote from a player about his coach. The person who was said to have made the statement (the white parent one) has always denied that he made the statement.
