That's a good crowd for the NRL - good on them I say. Well done.
First game at a new “state of the art” ground.
Be good if the crowds were maintained, but I don't think so…
Yeah, but at least they’re trying I guess.

What an amazing first week for the AFL Finals. Massive crowds, tv ratings and thrilling games.
Brisbane/Richmond 35,013
Melbourne/Sydney 78,377
Geelong/Collingwood 91,525
Fremantle/Bulldogs 58,982
Total: 263,897 Avg: 65,974
The first spring Test had sprung bitterly cold and windy, with fine misting rain swirling in to defy the “100% drip line roof” on the new stadium. As they do, the Wallabies fans swept in late but the rain and cold kept a chunk of fair-weather fans away.
It meant the 38,292 crowd, plenty of them South African, didn’t match the 41,906 at the NRL the night before.

NRL
23,758: Eels v Storm, Commbank Stadium
13,648: Bulldogs v Sea Eagles, Accor Stadium
41,906: Roosters v Rabbitohs, Allianz Stadium
20,512: Warriors v Titans, Mt Smart Stadium
8,247: Dragons v Broncos, Netstrata Jubilee Stadium
23,840: Cowboys v Panthers, QLD Country Bank Stadium

Another sellout this weekend. What a season this has been for Australia’s Game.

Always good to boast about a sellout, but here, correct me if I’m mistaken, the NRL stadium capacities are 12,000 and 22,000?
For finals footy, it’s cringy yeah?
The Shark Park precinct underwent a redevelopment from 2020, forcing the Sharks to relocate home games Kogarah for two seasons. The club will return to their traditional home for the 2022 season, however capacity will be restricted to 12,000.

Panthers Stadium (commercially known as BlueBet Stadium) is home of ground of NRL side Penrith Panthers and is located on Mulgoa Road in Penrith. The stadium is owned by Penrith City Council and has a maximum capacity of 22,500, with seating for 8,000 in two grandstands plus hills at either end.

I guess they can only do what they can do. I think it’s a good effort for them and they should be congratulated.

here is the thing,
why i believe NRL teams who finish high should host games at there home ground..
it is robbing fans at bigger stadium to watch..
Panthers v Parra will get 21k at game, if it were played at SFS it would of got 40k
Sharks v cowboys is playing at a restricted Development site (SHARK PARK) while it would normally fit close to 20k
it is restricted to 12k
Played at SFS this game gets 25k to 30k

My guess is they have no faith in home team fans travelling. Of course they should play the finals at the SFS if a Sydney team is the home team. All the teams in the AFL that play their home games at Docklands normally play their final at the G no matter what. Even Geelong play their home final there.

NRL in alot of ways, always bows down to the clubs..
but yes the NRL Clubs should be playing at SFS
Crowds this week for these two games will be
33k combined
instead of
70k odd

Gees average looking crowd at AAMI Park for Storm vs Raiders final. Assumed for finals footy a sellout crowd was assured.

Thought it looked okay. Saw a Pies scarf on a bloke in the crowd. Likely going up the G later lol. Good on him.
