There is a push to allow Gabba to open fully for GF. If this is the case, would the sell-out crowd be a record for the ground?

Depends..all time attendance..no...that was for a rock concert when they used the ground as well as the stadium seating.
Sport ..no rugby league game when they used some of the ground for seating.

Australian rules....probably but it would be close...they had some sell outs during the 3 premiership run.

Rugby League holds the record for sport & I think for all events
47800
1954 GB tour
reports say 10000 people were locked out too

Have you heard any updates on this? Crowds to date have seemed so close together anyway from what I can tell watching on tv, that I don’t see the point in not doing it. Would be great to see a sellout Gabba.

Sell out at the GABBA .... almost giving tickets away at Suncorp still not a sell out. Despite Storm being a pseudo qld side.

Tonight from the special time of 7.00pm AEDT on Nine from the officially sold-out Suncorp Stadium, in the first prelim, the Canberra Raiders face the Melbourne Storm, who are on an incredible 19-game winning streak in Queensland.

Mate. First welcome. I was thinking of going and could have bought tickets at 3:00pm ... with numerous choices. So wasn’t sold out at 3:00pm by a long shot. Also an article was posted by beaussie with the need to issue 20 dollar tickets to sell them. I didn’t see the 20 dollar tickets but they were cheap .. like in the 30 dollar range.

Wow wee let the backpedaling begin .
A post is made on the day after a RL game saying it’s not sold out yet .24 hrs after the game you say it’s still not a sell out .
Wow wee
That bullshit is negated.
$20 tickets are not the issue .
It was sold out .
You either lied, are stupid,or have no idea .

I say all Three.
NEXT!!!!!
Put a fork in this one, he’s done.

Fair enough mate but was just going off the article beaussie put up in another thread and the ease at which I could have got tickets less than 4 hours prior to the game. But I see you have an article that says it was a sell out so am happy to stand corrected.

Could I suggest as a knee poster that there is no need for the vitriol ... whilst it is a fight club even the marques of Queensberry had rules.

NRL had requested a lift in crowd figure from 40k to 50k and was denied by government yesterday.

AFL also did the same and QLD stayed solid on 30k limit.

ANZ STADIUM 40k limit >>> 83k stadium
GABBA 30k limit >>> 42k Stadium.

9 continuing with Rugby Union TV rights bid. FTA and streaming on STAN....
This streaming bid will just be the first.
I’m sure the big players, that now includes 10 and it’s upcoming “new” streaming service, will be looking seriously at the 2 big codes...and maybe, just maybe, a Lifeline bid for A-League.

Is this in the wrong thread? Just curious
