lol yeah they were overkill in the news, but Russel Crowe has been great for them..

The Balmain Wests Merger, were split in a 50/50 agreement. but the past 10 years has been really bad for
Balmain with Leagues club not being rebuilt and left in ruin, not enough money to cough up..

Wests have ended up with more members on the board and higher percentage share in the club.
and ended up bailing out the Tigers.
they have really successful leagues clubs with plenty of money coming in..

Popularity of Leagues clubs in Sydney (the Big 5 )

Souths
Parramatta
St George
West Tigers
Canterbury..

than there is a drop off
Panthers
Roosters
Manly
Cronulla

Staggers me that a team which was booted from the comp less than 20 years ago can be the biggest team in Sydney. Don't quite understand that - credit to the club though.

Also, why doesn't the NRL build a 25,000 seat stadium in Sydneys west? Surely that must have come up? It just looks shit at ANZ and doesn't need to.
Never realised quite how much hate there was for AFL from our Northern friends.

yes was a huge mistake by the NRL to boot South Sydney out in the late 90's
was incredible that they did.. it is equivlent of booting out Collingwood lol

the NRL also did a huge mistake in booting out North Sydney Bears.
a population north of sydney with 1 million people and growing has no team to support..
and has been left to Union & AFL / Soccer

Also regarding the Stadium issue..
There is 30k stadium due for completion in Parramatta in March of 2019
it looks brilliant

Haha Collingwood being booted is unimaginable.
Never heard of the North Sydney Bears tbh, when did that happen? I don't know Sydney much but I thought Manly was Nth Sydney?
I thought a stadium like Aami Park should've been in the works. Been to Victory, Storm, concerts at Aami and that size is awesome. Atmosphere is electric. That will be massive for your comp.
Who's gunna play there? The aesthetics of an empty ANZ was a blight on your game which, really, they should've fixed earlier.

North Sydney Bears Played at North Sydney Oval
have been around since the ARL 1908

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Sydney_Bears

that had a very rich leagues club and a good supporter base..
the Super League War in mid 90's reallys stuffed the ARL

Manly is Based at Brookvale in Manly Warringah
it is a small pocked on the northen beaches.

Northern Sydney North Districts all the way up to Hornsby is unsupported (catchment 1million)

will be a 30k Stadium so very similiar to Aami Park in Mlebourne

it will be Parramatta Eels home ground..
with some teams of the likes of West Tigers and canterbury saying they will play some games there.

yes Olympic Pk ANZ is shocking ground in so many ways.. and lacks atmosphere..
it has been a blight on the game since it was built..

OVAL grounds do not work for rectangle codes.. Plain and simple.

Completely agree on oval grounds, I've been to see Socceroos and even origin (this is why I might not fit in here..) and it's always a great atmosphere when there's 95k there but it's awful for watching. I'm sure ANZ isn't that bad but the top tier seating makes for shit viewing I bet.

So basically Manly is very inner and not representing the extended North. What about the west? Are Paramatta, Canterbury, Tigers etc all inner-west based? If so - which teams draw the support from GWS? The area is so massive it should be pumping love into the NRL.

you can say whatever you like, its good that you like both codes, you will give a more honest opinion.. :)

yeah oval grounds for viewing is just plain dumb and takes away the spectacle.
especially for the rugby codes when alot of the play can be done one side of the ground
and controlled around the ruck...

Yeah Manly is on the east side of the north shore (northen beaches) its only little pocket.
abit like cronulla sutherland sharks..

and yes it does not represent the greater North of sydney and inner north to the west.

Yes Parramatta is almost in the middle of sydney metro area and is west of sydney
Canterbury are south west of Sydney.
Tigers are based out of Balmain which joined with Western Suburbs Magpies based out of lidcombe.

But they have 3 home grounds lol yes 3... Olympic Pk Leichhardt, Campbelltown (which is the Marcathur region of sydney)
located 60km outside of sydney

GWS Area would be Parramatta and Penrith..

GWS are targeting the Hills District and WEST NORTH of sydney and Inner West..

Its pretty simple pal - the Bulldogs have had a shit season. Sydney people don't tolerate losers. And you and the truth are strangers my friend.

What's the excuse tonight? Teams playing poorly? Too early on a Thursday night?

Check out those empty stands!
