Well lets be honest Xman, they didnt really penalise Jetta for it now did they? What they did, sending him a letter, was more like a slap on the wrist. I guess that's consistent with what acting like a drama queen deserves but is this pussy penalty going to have any effect? I doubt it. Give the players back their manlyness and allow them to throw a few fists at those who shame themselves and their code for such unmanlylike behaviour!!
On a related note, State of Origin should be a ripper this wednesday, plenty of passion ensures the chance of fisticuffs is increased. Perhaps some of the AFL fans will take note and see the importance of allowing the odd fist to be thrown in the heat of battle.

It would be unfair to make an example out of one player when others have got off Scott free in the past. Jettas warning means he will be penalized with a suspension if he does it again. This is totally fair and well managed but the AFL.
Bending the rules for gain is hardly new in any sport.
The fact you encourage violence in any form is a blight on your already sketchy reputation.

Violence is conducted in every tackle and almost every contact in both sports you dimwit. RL and marngrook are quite simply, violent sports. Pulling back on the fisticuffs essentially increases unsportsmanlike behaviours on the field as the players know they'll only get a penalty for their discretion, or even worse, a friggin letter in the mail saying "dont you do it again". In RL, a player who conducts seriously unsportsmanlike behaviour is likely to get beaten good and proper for it by the opposing team members, as they should be, hence the lower frequency of unsportsmanlike behaviour.

You clot!
They do not and should not include criminal acts like physical assault! They are supposed to punish it because society has moved on from such primitive behaviour. Everyone except RL fans anyway. They seem to encourage brutal and dangerous behaviour. What a disgrace!

I was talking about acts that the law would consider violent criminal behaviour. There is a reason behaviour like this is Punished by almost all sporting bodies these days. Yet you seem to think this behaviour is ok.
Shame on you!

So ahh if I were to spot you on the train Xman and come charging in with a superbly executed hip and shoulder, you wouldnt call that assault?

Look up the legal definition of assualt again and then get back to me dimwit, it happens in both codes all the time

Yes Xman read you fool. Has anyone died as a result of fisticuffs on a Marngrook or RL field? I'm sure I'd have heard of it if it had happened but I dont think I have heard of it so it probably hasnt. In any case the incidence of it would be less so I think you need to rethink your lamo argument above Xman.

Hip and shoulders and other contact are legal in ARs. The vast majority of these actions result in no injury. The ones that do are incidental.
Punching, elbowing kicking etc is not legal in ARs. These acts are dangerous and are punishable with suspension, and rightly so since they are intended to injure and often do.
KE is condoning punching in the game of RL.
What a primitive disgrace!

The World Medical Association also recommends that boxing should be banned because it 'can result in death and produces an alarming incidence of chronic brain injury'. Until a total ban is achieved, it recommends a number of measures that should be put in place to maximise the safety for those involved.

Boxing is a brutal sport that has come under immense criticism from the medical profession. Recent evidence about the long term effects of repeated concussion injuries will increase the pressure on this sport even more. In an attempt to control this issue boxers now are forced to undergo regular medical checks including brain MRI to detect evidence of brain injury.
Look at ex boxers like Ali. He is paying the price now.
This is a terrible example to use if you wish to claim punching people is ok.
