As is the norm in the NRL, thousands of tickets have been offered to so called fans in an attempt to attract crowds.

Will NRL fans respond? Hmm... time will tell. No excuses now... not with thousands of heavily discounted tickets on offer.

CANTERBURY officials are hoping for a crowd of more than 30,000 for Friday night's grudge match against Manly at ANZ Stadium, but they have questioned whether the Sea Eagles' fans will turn up to support the NRL premiers.

Manly officials confirmed the Bulldogs had offered their members a special ticketing deal to build Friday night's crowd.

However, Canterbury chief executive Todd Greenberg said he was unsure how many Sea Eagles supporters would take up the offer, after just 13,792 Manly fans travelled to the SFS last September to watch their team play the Cowboys in a finals match.

Anyone know what the crowd was? Looked awful on tv. I'm assuming NRL fans again did not turn up in big numbers for another blockbuster clash with discounted tickets galore on offer.

Passionate and loyal lot aren't they?
