Sheezus, we cant really consider the AFL as a comp anymore. Serious problems as the way i see it you have 4 or so teams that are worthy of being in a pro comp. 4 or so could fit nicely into a feeder/division 1 comp. And four or so should be sitting in a division 3 or 4.

Xman I love your efforts to save face in this debate. You give the term pathetic a human face. It's really quite amusing. Hang on in there mate!

4 or so for each i said. So WCE, Collingwood, Geelong, Hawthorn, Carlton are the top bunch. Syd, Fremantle, Adelaide, port, stkilda in the middle. And then throw GC, GWS, Bris and Melb in the bottom. Theres a few teams left out which im not sure of yet, maybe you can help me out where they might belong Xman?

Brisbane won last week and are withou their best player. They will be better this year, and win a reasonable number of games at home. They are hardly a basket case.

The demons had a disappointing first week and suffered the same fate as many other clubs will when traveling to Perth. #-o they will still beat a number of teams this year.

The giants and suns are easy beats, but everyone knows why, and this will change over the next few years.

I would say not scoring at all for an entire game is suffering a smashing. I wonder if the storm would be considered a thrashing.

Talk about compromising your entire comp for expansion. How is it the storm are successful every single year despite no local representative? :-k is that coincidence? #-o yet after all this they can't even get a crowd or tv ratings over the dismal suns.

please explain why then ?

as I said

the Titans won 6 of their first 8 games
the Warriors 7 of their first 8

hell

even the western reds won 4 of their first 8 games

was the VFL ready for expansion or not ?

it seems by creating 2 woeful .. awful teams ... this was done by making the other 16 ALL weaker in the process .. & a few of these other 16 have fallen way down .. they simply have no chance of competing at all in 2012
its appalling
yet dopey VFL fans still lined up like sheep .. baaaing away ...signing up for memberships .. like brained washed ****
no questions
no thoughts about anything ...

a sick .... flawed system that has led to this

while the NRL will enjoy a wonderfully close exciting season where probably 15 of the 16 clubs fans know their team is a chance of playing finals footy
VFL fans are just clueless

for shame VFL
for shame [-X [-X [-( [-(

a side scoring no points ... beaten by a side scoring just once
makes for a very ... very close game
as tight as a drum

a blowout ?
like I said ... you wouldn't know one in RL if it bit you in the @ss.........

What a load of horseshit!
The reason the suns and giants aren't competitive yet is because they are full of talented kids which will take 3-4 years to develop. The AFL could have plundered all clubs and weakened them all but they didn't so clubs like collingwood essendon carlton etc are still strong. Once the suns and giants mature they will have far better sport than just throwing some random team together. The storm is a classic example of a successful team with no significant local identity.
