belong in the same sentence
unlike the NRL that had 6 in week one ( theres been another 3 overnight will all results going against the odds )
the VFL again shows what a predictable load of snot it is
GWS V Swans ... Swans win as predicted
Carlt V Rich ... Carlt win as predicted
Hawth V Coll... Hawth win as predicted
Thuns V Adel ... Adel win as predicted
Ess V North .... Ess win as predicted
Frem V Geel... an upset win to Frem
Melb V Brisb ... Brisb win as predicted
1 upset out of 7
wow
must be real exciting turning up knowing the result well before hand
& knowing theres no chance your team will .. or even can.. win

Here the tips of a panel of AFL experts for the AGE.
Swans win was expected
Carlton was an upset because only 11 out of 24 tipped this result
Hawthorn beating Collingwood was expected but only because of Collingwoods injuries. Had they been at full strength it would have been even money
Brisbane's win was an upset. 22 of 24 experts picked Melbourne.
Essendon won by 2 points after the siren, which was expected by just over half the tipsters. An even money game in anyone's language, which was reflected by the result.
Fremantle won by less than a goal. The tipsters were split 12/12
So 3 of the 7 games played so far were upsets. Another was so even it was decided after the siren. The two coming games today are going to be close. They could easily go either way.
You're full of shit as usual.

Fine, we'll go with odds. This site's odds indicate 3 of the 7 games played so far were upsets! The Essendon v Nth was almost even money and the game decided after the siren
So over half of the games so far have been upsets or almost impossible to pick the result.

Oh dear! read the comment moron

. I said
"over half of the games so far have been upsets or almost impossible to pick the result"
You made this thread suggesting upsets never occur. You've been shown to be wrong for the zillienth time on this forum. You're a dunce pure and simple.

the odds picked Essendon by a nose. The tipsters could barely separate them. Just like I said, almost impossible to pick, and hardly predictable.
Other than that 3 of 7 games have been upsets. Hardly the 1 in 7 you claimed!

Essendon v Nth was great too. So was Hawthorn v Geelong. footy has been awesome so far this year!
What a great round! At this stage we are on target to smash the total ratings and attendance records for any AFL round ever!

Hmm despite all the crowing by NRL fans about how close an even their games are, and how any team can beat anyone and win from almost any position, it seems their fans are getting sick of the low scoring snooze fest the NRL is serving up this year. The proof is there too. Crowds are down on last year and way down on 4 years ago.
A thread has started on LU called
has the footy become boring?
Here is the original post:
Point scoring is down and down a long way this season. Defense and negative plays rule this season.
We have had sixteen games where the winning team has failed to reach twenty points. In three games we have had a team fail to score any points. In eighteen games we have had a team fail to reach double figures.
Coaches have instructed their kickers to kick the ball dead to cut back the chances of a return. Wrestling has taken over the play the ball.
It's been building for a few years now but I think rugby league NRL style has become boring. Crowds are down a little this season compared to the same time last year. Their looked to be a disappointing crowd at Kograh tonight.
This thread is a poll and only 40% of voters have stated that no, the NRL hasn't become more boring. Therefore 60% of voters agree to some degree, and these are RL fans!!

still suffering from that wet round 1 .. 50K down after week 1
we pulled up to just 1,500 behind last week after 6 rounds
but will be about 14K behind after this week as last years round 7 was quite well attented
& we will be in front by some way after round 8 ... to be played the weekend after next as we have an NRL free weekend next week with another couple of words that you never see in the same sentence as VFL... REP GAMES
so crowds tracking nicely in 2012
a record average attendance is near assured
meanwhile .. the VFL had another absorbing encounter last night
this one lasted til halftime
VFL.. a cure for insomnia

Check out the ratings dumbo. Smashed the nRL despite the one-sided AFL game which was targeted to a single city. Meanwhile the nRL games were targeted to two and got SMASHED!!!
Which is the cure for insomnia? Let's not even mention the NRL 9.30 game

by then NSW and QLD are asleep!
