Thinking about this and the implications.
Murdoch's Ch10 decide to pull out of AFL possibly because they are skint.
Ch7 must have been initially a little worried but now laughing all the way to the bank.
Ch9 who aren't too flash and were wondering just how much to offer for the nrl must now be wondering
whether they want a product that is going to look poorly by comparison.

Hopefully Ch7 will see this as an opportunity to cross promote it's product and reap further benefits.
Obviously the strategy of underwriting the expansion teams with TV rights revenue has worked marvellously.
Can we start thinking about NZ now ?

I think you think too much :-k
Tell me about it, cos789 stop smoking the gunga mate its effecting your brain. AFL use to have coverage in NZ why bother going down a failed path again.

If the AFL think Western Sydney is gonna be a tough market for them then NZ is at least 50 years away from having anything of note in the AFL.

The AFL actually had a strong competition in Sydney once. Daily Messenger's brother played in it. When League came along in 1908, They quickly ran the scum out of town. Split Enz reckons 'History Never Repeat', I reckon there wrong. I think the same things going to happen, only this time Leagues going to run the AFL out of Melbourne.

OMG! #-o

The Afl is stronger in Melbourne than RL is anywhere in Australia. The storm have been a super team but struggle to get crowds bigger than RU or A league.

Actually it was the NSWFL - That's the NSW Football League. RU and government policy was responsible for the demise of the local competition. rl wasn't even born yet.
