Day 2 and already the stupidity is showing from this new commission. The fear of the AFL is obvious.

Newly appointed Australian Rugby League Commission chairman John Grant fired a shot at AFL on Saturday declaring the rival code will struggle to "take away any turf" from rugby league.

"I look at the game today and there's absolutely no doubt we have the most entertaining on-field sport in Australia, if not the world."

So Mr Grant, if your game is the most entertaining on-field sport in Australia, if not the world, why do your fans stay away in droves and you struggle for a crowd average of 16k? What an arrogant, delusional wanker. Off to a good start stupid.

Oh and goota love this. What about the 14 clubs that make a loss year after year? Anything left over for them once the players take it all? Nothing for them it seems and expansion plans...well...

There were concerns however the game's leading players would grab most of the money following reports Melbourne's representative halfback Cooper Cronk was scouting for a new $850,000-a-season deal tied to the expected broadcast rights deal when it is negotiated and wages are increased.
