If they made a rst of the world AR team how would they go?

Post by King-Eliagh »

Hi folks,

Please answer my question. If they made a united rest of the world non expat AR team how would they fair against lil old Australia? What would you predict the result would be?

I think answering this question would give us a good indication of the level of international AR. As in most big sports, a world team, barr the obvious cohesion issues, is usually a very formidable line up which can often beat the number one nation in the world.

Conversely, if the same matchup was to be developed in AR, I would suggest the scoreline would be an embarrassment to the world. My prediction?

Australia: 87.5. 527

Rest of World: 2.4. 16

Give it up folks. Lets be open and honest about this. International AR has a loooOOOOOooong way to go before being anywhere near competitive with international RL on the Earth stage.

If you are putting a rest of the world team against the best of the AFL competition then that scoreline could be right. But that doesn't mean that it's a long way behind like you think, Dunce!

A rest of the world team against some of the rep teams in New South Wales however would be a good contest. I'd love to see them play Central West, Tamworth or Summerland. They might even win!

Thankyou. Finally you agree. In terms of playing standards international AR has a loooOOOng way to go to be at the level of international RL.

Yes seeing them go up against regional nsw teams would be a fair matchup imo.

Thank you for agreeing that the rest of the world is closer than you said it is. If they were as bad as you claimed even the regional leagues I named would thrash them. The game is in good shape. Fact of life.

Can you just repeat after me because I'm not sure you get it. "In terms of playing standards international AR has a loooOOOng way to go to be at the level of international RL"

Thanks.

And what level did I suggest the rest of the world were at? Regional nsw is nothing to be hooting and screaming about :?

Well there are quite a number of examples of that at junior level.
Now we are seeing the introduction of World and/or Pacific sides at representive level
and a South Pacific side defeated an Australian representive side I believe and were competitive at the others.

If you look at seniors then you could scrape together a team that wouldn't be thrashed IMO.

KE you are ignoring the imbalances in rl.
What do you call an Australia 42 to France 4 result ? In front of a small home crowd.
Don't you think AF should be aiming higher than that ?
Nice try Cos.

I know there's some imbalances in RL, but I'm telling you, they'd be nothing like the ones in AR. You'd have to agree with that cos.

Like Australia 42 France 4 and that's one of your better match ups.

Maybe you're right because IMO the imbalances in AF are not like rl and are a lot less than those in rl.
You just have to look at the 2011 IC to see that.
Nice try Cos.

The only place I've ever seen scorelines like that in AFL is in the juniors at Under 10 or Under 11 level!

Ah cos as per usual you are acting like a buttplug and have little understanding of the thread. I'm talking about a rest of the world team, you'r providing the scores of international matches. And Australia England and NEwZealand are relatively close in this regard. But that's not the point. A rest of the world aussie rules squad against Australia and this is your scoreline.

Australia: 87.5. 527

Rest of World: 2.4. 16

 It really says something about the level of quality o/s doesnt it. A nice reality check for you cos. Even nsw agrees cos  You're on your own in this one pal
