I must admit I dont have a wealth of knowledge on AFL participation numbers in syd but from my awareness and one season experience as a player in syd, these figures look pretty accruate to me.

Real nice you included auskick for our aussie rules supporters there too Raider. We all know including auskick would be like including touch footy numbers in league participation figures. Even so our AFL supporters in here would be up in arms if you didnt include them so really sportsmanlike that you added them in Raider. Good man.

It also includes Canberra and the Sapphire Coast which has been strong for some time. Our big increases also include the North Coast and the South Coast around the Nowra region that is not included in your Illawarra figures. Then there is the Central West, Broken Hill and the Summerland region.

Yeah I really dont care whether they include auskick numbers or not to tell you the truth. Its dodgy strategy and smoe and mirrors stuff but you would expect the general public not to fall for it...or on second thoughts perhaps they would

so we have about 2K AR U12 players in the entirity of Sydney

& another 84K in the rest of the state .. in ONE age group... ONE
the Riverina has a population of about 250K ... it has about 35 Jnr clubs all up ... there might be 50 U12 teams down there .. all up
thats 1K players
83K to go

Canberra wouldn't have as many U12 teams as the Riverina
the Sapphire Coast ?.... a few towns .. Merimbula .. Eden etc , if 40K people lived in this region all up I'd be staggered
