Lets compare membership numbers to date for two teams in non traditional heartland areas.

Sydney Swans (No. 1 sporting club in town in terms of sponsorship, membership and attendances) - 12,200

http://membership.sydneyswans.com.au/

Melbourne Storm - 5.108

Which code is stronger outside of it's heartland? Silly question I know. :P

Sydney Swans (No. 1 sporting club in town in terms of sponsorship, membership and attendances) and already have over 12,000 members signed for 2012 after just a few weeks of membership sales. Going gangbusters.

And the 4 biggest NRL games?

Oh and don't bother with SOO! Those are rep games not NRL. Unless your also suggesting that Melbourne love soccer much more than RL, because the world cup sure rated higher than SOO.

That's because your stupid. As if you compare any rep game to a local league match for comparison of interest. The interest isnt the sport, its the event. With that logic tennis is our most popular national sport! After all the Australian open final was the most watched sporting event in the last decade eclipsing RL and AFL easily.

Notice it was in prime time too! I wonder why tennis Australia and ch 7 moved the game to prime time? How silly! Surely they know the final would rate better in the middle of the day when the other stations have nothing decent to show!

what F'ing Rep match :?
I said NRL's 3 biggest games ( well 3 that were shown at a decent time anyway ) got 880K in Melbourne

is that more then singletballs 3 biggest in Sydney or not ?

& my take on interest is this
if you won't even push a button on a remote .. thats in your friggin hand .. if you don't think a sport is worth doing that
then you're not real interested are you ?
cough *** AFL in Sydney *** cough

beaussie started the thread
looks like he's come up with a pumpkin ... again
