Raider would have you believe that South Sydney had over 20k members last season. I never believe his rubbish so I did a bit of research.

Well, well, well, it seems just 11k were ticketed members. I suspect the other 9k were pet memberships. Whatever the case, the numbers quoted by the NRL, Souths and Raider are rubbish.

Never ever trust the NRL, its clubs or its supporters. Fudge, fudge.

& besides
a Leagues Club membership ... & a football club membership
are 2 entirely different things

I know you & tipsy got a bit of a shock when you saw how NRL club memberships are coming along ... they're set to increase again in 2012
with 4 tipped to crack 20K
& 2 pushing 25K

it is not actually that hard to get the breakdown on the NRL memberships given they are published by the NRL as part of their State of the Game review. It shows that Souths had just under 13k in ticketed members this year. Of course one now asks the AFL crew what is the makeup of their memberships? Richmond claims 42k in members but this number is way over their average home crowd and that is not even allowing for the opposition supporters showing up. Do half the Richmond members buy tickets and never go?

We know that the GWS memberships are a fraud so does this extend to the other clubs?

We know that despite introducing another club in NSW/QLD AFL memberships actually went backwards with the Suns claiming 14k and the Swans/Lions more than that between them. How desperate have the AFL become to keep this national competition illusion alive?

Non-ticketed members. Souths have no where near 20k members with the majority being non-ticketed members (Souths Juniors members in this instance).

13K ticketed .... thats .. ticketed they had seats for all 12 home games ... 20K all up the other 7K being made up by 3 game memberships ...
country / interstate memberships etc

same as collinswart had 70K ..all up ... & about 5K ticketed .. the rest , fridge magnet & bumbersticker memberships
