No doubt about it. The first Sydney derby is going to be huge.

And the NRL should panic. Or finally realise that they are in serious trouble and need to make changes to compete.

They already are in panic mode with silly threats of scheduling NRL games against the Giants in western Sydney. Clearly they've learnt nothing from these silly tactics that failed badly on the Gold Coast this year.

yet of these & after 6 weeks of sales
have only managed to sign up 2,228 to real memberships

Time will tell, membership sales really kick off in the new year. I'm confident the Giants will do better than any NRL club in western Sydney. Where do you stand on that?

I am confident that membership sales for GWS will kick along in the new year.
I am confident that GWS will have some big games despite the perception of poor onfield performances just like the GCFC had sellouts despite some massive blowouts. I do believe the GWS are more scoreline conscious than the GCFC. IMO Falou will have a greater impact than k Hunt because he's had a better leadup year and can be used all over the ground, in the ruck or to take a big mark. Whilst the GWS are building onfield performance they have already shone when it comes to soaking up coporate support. this identification with WS has allowed GWS to leverage many community projects at local governmnet level. Ultimately it will be this widespread support(by GWS) for WS that will garner local passion.
