268,700 Australian Rules players Rugby League just 91,200

According the ABS' last count, Australian Rules has the most players in Australia with a whopping 268,700 compared with rugby league's pathetic 91,200.

Can you tell which game has the most nationwide appeal to the people of Australia? Not hard is it when you consider which code is truly national rather than just for names sake.
Just another KPI where the AFL absolutely dominates the NRL. Oh and the flawed regionals argument put forward by throwball fans doesn't assist in this debate.
