Nice to see the investment in NSW is now delivering handsome returns.

11 players from NSW/ACT selected by AFL clubs compared with zero back in 2004. Well done, nice to see our great game is obviously getting stronger at the grassroots level in NSW/ACT. =D>

THE AFL's multi-million dollar investment in NSW and the ACT is starting to take effect at the grass roots with clubs primary-listing 11 players from the local nursery after last night's draft.

The dramatic improvement in numbers is a long way from 1999, 2000 and 2004 when there were no locals drafted.

The GWS Giants primary-listed six zone selections from NSW and ACT - Jacob Townsend, Kurt Aylett, Sam Schulz, Mark Whiley, Anthony Miles, and Josh Bruce.

Sydney upgraded Nathan Gordon with selection 85, Hawthorn used their 77th pick to upgrade Luke Breust, Adelaide primary-listed Aidan Riley with pick 89 and Will Sierakowski was primary-listed when he joined North Melbourne during trade week. Joining them on AFL lists is Sydney-sider Jarrod Witts who Collingwood recruited with their 67th selection.

It shows just how much work was put in. NRL could learn a lesson from this. You have to spend money on the roots to bear fruit.

No need. Everyone here knows all you ever post is rubbish. Delusional thinking on your part will never amount to facts.
