but after a few sh.its & giggles in a hybrid game , we have our own games to return to & play against foreign opponents

Where are they going to fit it in?

Next year, Australia play 2 tests, 1 mid year and 1 at the end of the season so the players can have a decent rest before the 2013 RLWC. The Wallabies will be on their usual Northern Hemisphere tour.

And why should the ARL and ARU let this happen just so a few rich blokes can make a few extra bucks using the two codes?

As the article said both codes are cash strapped so I guess when you are failing you try to replicate a more successful code

Eels fan, when was the last time the Kangaroos played the Wallabies? I think you'll find that you'll be going back further than you seem to think. Gaelic Football is the AFL's equal, and I strongly recommend you reverse that slur given that you had and likely have homosexuals playing your game.

The Kangaroos only came about in 1908 when RL started in Australia thanks to our Kiwi neighbours. They have played the wallabies 3 times.

In fact, during world war II, even the poms played cross code games and they repeated this when Union went open (wigan vs bath, you can watch the games on youtube). So this is nothing new to the rugby codes.

But it has not happened for a long time. That was what I meant.

Not in Australia at top level for a while, but plenty of games at lower levels.

Heck, even the French Top 14 side Stade France (union team in Paris) played Lezignan (League side) in a game this year in Lezignan, it was streamed and watched by heaps of people. (still available to watch now)

Give me examples of games at lower levels in Australia.
