Oh dear a code on it's knees with virtually every club BROKE. What a farce.

Wests Tigers director David Trodden, the spokesman for the clubs, said: ''The clubs were of the belief that there was a funding facility in place to allow that to happen, but there is a bit of doubt about that now.

''What I do know is that having 15 of 16 [clubs] losing money is not sustainable in the long term. The days of leagues clubs putting their hands in their pockets have gone. They are not going, they are gone.''

& their sugar daddy's the AFL won't be able to help them out in the near future either

they'll be busy pouring tens of millions every year into the financial black holes that are the Suns ... & soon to be GWS
if you think the AFL spend a fair bit on unprofitable clubs like North Melb, Richmond ... Melbourne .. Port Adelaide the Swans & Lions
just to keep them afloat

as for demading money , they're just posturing to make sure their new contract with the NRL ... which they haven't signed yet , has the appropriate level of funding for the clubs
nothing more then this

meanwhile .... AFL clubs are leaking money like the USS Lead weight .. which is at the bottom of the sea

Hmm that's certainly not how the NRL clubs see it according to what they say in public. They are on their knees ready to fold. What a joke of a competition when 15 of your 16 clubs are broke. Pathetic.

You don't need a degree is economics to know that if you have liquidity, you have the ability to borrow against debt - and bang! End of being broke! But guess what? They CAN'T! Why? Because they DON'T HAVE LIQUIDITY!!

And the reason for that can be seen in the attendance figures and memberships - something that the AFL is murdering the NRL in.

You want real liquidity, Raider? Get that bunch of TV viewers you hold so dear out of their collective couches and out to the games!! Where it REALLY counts!

talking dribble again I see

bums on seats & memberships are a far smaller part of a codes income then veiwers in their homes watching on TV

the 7 Million people who attended games of AFL this last season ( 60% of these were members ) paid on average only $20 per seat
( kids paying as little as $2.50)
thats approx 140 million dollars into coffers from memberships & gate receipts
your next TV contract is worth 250 Million a year you complete wombat

TV trumps actual spectators nowdays for revenue .....
the AFL will need every cent of this too .... as memberships & attendance plummet in NSW & QLD & the 2 new clubs plus basket case Melbourne clubs continue to bleed money badly , the AFL is in for some very hairy decades to come.

FACT remains the AFL murders the NRL like you say TLPG on every measurable stat each code is measured on. Raider even admitted as much in a previous thread and at another forum.
