Even the NRL CEO says the AFL is truly national and puts to rest the debate about which codes rates better on TV. Way to go Gallop, puts the tv deals in perspective in one quote.
"Whether that's on par with the AFL will obviously be one of the things we will be measured against. But they are truly national, so they have five capital cities rating that are always going to be better than ours. Their game goes for longer."

Well you cannot argue with the CEO of the NRL, Mr Davd Gallop's analogy of these events, as he knows his stuff! =D>

Certainly puts things in perspective doesn't it. Well done Gallop for telling it like it is.
AFL = "truly national" with ratings that are always going to be better than the NRL.

since this article the AFL has had another year of falling ratings
their 6th in a row
they can chow down on a 7th in 2012
whilst the NRL has enjoyed another year of rising ratings ... I can't recall the last time there wasn't year on year growth in NRL TV ratings
in 2009 we hit the lead
in 2010 we increased this lead ( even allowing for an " extra " AFL GF)
its looking like it will be nearly 16 Million more NRL veiwers in 2011 then AFL ones
no David has a bit more info now
stand aside .... we're in for a whopping deal ..... a whopper

It is obvious that the supporters of the nrl are suffering from major mental health issues if they believe their tinpot competition is more popular than the AFL. You just cannot help but to have pity on these ******** folks! [-o<

numbers don't lie Grim
the AFL only attracts 3.5 Million more spectators to games then the NRL
has only 400K more members
but we have 16 Million more TV veiwers

Keep up the spin. Fact is you have abysmal crowds, membership numbers and tv ratings/tv deals when compared to the AFL. And even your CEO says that you aren't national like the AFL and will never win the tv ratings battle. :P
