The AFL was the number one program in this great football loving nation of ours. Makes you proud to be an Aussie. And what a final it was last night.

Yes indeed, unlike those unAustralian merkins of the NRL. And only 31,000 attended their preliminary final between Manly and Brisbane :_<> How pathetic and so much for that wanker Lockyer hype

David Gallop says the AFL is "truly national"

Even the NRL CEO says the AFL is truly national and puts to rest the debate about which codes rates better on TV. Way to go Gallop.
"Whether that's on par with the AFL will obviously be one of the things we will be measured against. But they are truly national, so they have five capital cities rating that are always going to be better than ours. Their game goes for longer."

only 1,571,000 Overall veiwers when everyone is counted
3rd in football prpgrams broadcast this weekend just past
the NRL's 2nd final ( with no NSW or QLD sides ) attracting a mammoth
1.807,000 veiwers
the 1st NRL Final ....
also attracting more then the Blockbuster AFL final
with 1,668,000 veiwers
the Sat Arvo AFL final only attracted
1,265,000
for a weekend total of 2,836,000
the NRL's Total for the weekend 3,475,000
whopped good .... again
was the AFL
by the NRL
