Even the NRL CEO says the AFL is truly national and puts to rest the debate about which codes rates better on TV. Way to go Gallop.

"Whether that's on par with the AFL will obviously be one of the things we will be measured against. But they are truly national, so they have five capital cities rating that are always going to be better than ours. Their game goes for longer."

As the NRL CEO points out, the flawed regionals don't count when it comes to which code is "truly national" and rates better on tv and in turn gets the biggest tv rights deals.

the NRL's 2nd final ( with no NSW or QLD sides ) attracting a mammoth
1.807,000 veiwers

the 1st NRL Final ....
also attracting more then the Blockbuster AFL final
with 1,668,000 veiwers

the Sat Arvo AFL final only attracted 1,265,000
for a weekend total of 2,836,000

the NRL's Total for the weekend 3,475,000
