Post by crocodileman »

Do you have a thirst for adventure? Do you enjoy a challenge? Are you tired of the same old humdrum lifestyle? Are you in a professional rut?

If you answered 'yes' to any of the questions above, the information following may be useful to your future professional career.

The Iraqi Interim Government has numerous openings for Police Officers and other security personnel in various locations. If successful in your application, you will join the world's most innovative police force with the most up to date training and advancement to higher ranks effectively guaranteed after 6 weeks.

You will be trained in the field in a range of anti-terrorist restraints which will make your CV virtually impossible for employers to ignore! Your 6 day intensive training course will see you graduate as the most capable and effective police officers this side of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The dux of this training will receive the time honoured "Blind Fold and last smoke" award in Police excellence and so have at their disposal an effective diversion in case of an unexpected insurgent execution squad pulling over your vehicle.

Postings will be made to our secure and prestigious squads in fabulous Fallujah, neutral Najaf, magnificent Mosul or rainbow Ramadi. You will receive training in dispute resolution which may be put to good use in the unlikely event of confrontation or contact wih insurgents.

Before your appointment is confirmed you will need to pass our stringent medical and health tests. Your blood pressure and heart rate readings will be taken in stress related circumstances including your vehicle being approached by hooded gunmen, large parcels being delivered to your home and strangers running towards you yelling something about 40 virgins and Allah waiting for them.

The Iraqi Interim Government is an equal opportunity employer. Christians and western caucasians are encouraged to apply. We also have an attractive superannuation scheme including a special "corporate corpse" rate available for that special getaway in any hotel in our "green zone."

Applications close 27 February.

Are you ready for a challenge?

I was hoping for a call through to chambers regarding being a representative onthe legal team for Saddam Hussein's trial. Unfortunately, he has briefed other counsel. These are the type of cases that make or break a barrister's reputation. Fortunately though, as Talking Footy's counsel, I will continue to receive defamation briefs assisting the defence of this site.

My reading of international law suggests that should Saddam be found not guilty of the crimes he has been charged with, and in view of the invasion of his country not being as a result of any UN Resolution, and further the failure to find Weapons of Mass Destruction by the Coalition of the Willing, he has a legal right to assume control of Iraq as per his unanimous election win in 2002.
