Suggestions for the homepage

Hi guys and gals, I'm hoping you might have some ideas on how to improve the look of the homepage for Talking Footy at http://www.talkingfooty.com

I'm open to suggestions here peoples as the current look is a bit drab. Perhaps when footy season kicks off we can have members put together articles on matches.

Any suggestions?
