Swans vs Essendon

Have to say that was one of the best footy games I've ever seen. Both teams desperate to win and it seriously didnt stop from the first bounce and had everything. Some big hits, marks a plenty, crazy unpredictable umpiring, and some amazing goals.

Best of all was probably the intensity of defence by both teams. It took a lot to get the ball out of each teams 50, every ball was contested and the pressure ws extreme for all four quarters.

And then it goes down to a kick from just outside 50 to Goodes after the final siren, setup by a freakish movement of the ball from the swans 50. It looked in until just missing to the left. Swans lose by a point.

Ripper of a game.

Was a great game between two teams desperate to play finals. Very stressful to watch as a Swans supporter and heartbreaking finish. Our inaccuracy in front of goal let us down again.

Why is it that these two sides always seem to turn on rippers when one least expects it? This goes back a long time.

I expected this one. Their positioning on the ladder made it important for both sides. I would love to see them go at it again in the finals with the swans coming out on top. Last nights game easily had the intensity of a finals match.

I found it humourous in the face of the tanking accusers to see a similar intensity prevelant between two sides who can not make the finals just yesterday. Brisbane and Adelaide. Whilst it would be debatable as to which game was better, there can be no doubt about each game's individual quality.

Good point Truthsayer. Was a cracker of a game at the Gabba yesterday too between two lowly placed teams.

Only caught the last few minutes of that after being out umpiring. Both teams getting to triple figures always augers well for a great game.
