When does this medaling event take place Gollum?
I'll simplify it for you link, rugby league is Australia's most popular sport :thumbleft: watched by more people than any other sport in this country!

SO are rating the only determining factor in deciding the countries most popular sport? What about crowds, being played across the whole country, sponsorship etc etc. Given the vaugerancies with ratings and confounds impacting, especially re: season games, them I think other measures surely would need to be considered would they not? I would say a comment like SoO is the most watched sporting event on TV or most popular on TV would be more valid. You could even suggest that RL received the highest ratings. Of course, there are arguments and will continue to be - and let's face it, valid ones, around why these rating stats need to be viewed more broadly and in context. However, this could go round and round - and let us not again go down that rabbit hole. My point being to acquaint ratings alone with being most popular I think may be a stretch - most watched - you can get away with that I think - but most popular. When a kid can easily play a game of Rugby League in just about anywhere in the country - as you can with Aussie Rules then maybe you might have more to support this. Trying to have a sensible discussion but await the usual drivel.

It's very simple and very straight forward, Im not sure about link, but even you should be able to get this Fred. Stop trying to deflect or change the subject. Most Watched = Most popular. :thumbleft:

Arguments, rather attempted arguments Fred!

The TV stations pay $millions each year for these figures. Advertisers spent $ billions based on these figures :hmm:

Fred you seam to be confusing arguments and facts.

I would argue that higher ratings does not equal most popular for the points I raised? It may be one measure - agreed but other things also would contribute to being most popular. I guess we disagree then. Fair enough.

Obviously you don't receive an invite. But we generally have a BBQ out the back of my place each year.

If the raw data was true league would get more given the fact it’s the More popular game in the 1st and 3rd highest advertising markets.

Last nights replays

Collingwood v Hawthorn (2011 Prelim) - Melb Only - 55,000
Adelaide v Port Adelaide (R19,2013) - Melb Only - 14,000 (same game as shown in Adelaide last week)
Adelaide v North Melbourne (R8, 1993) - Adel Only - 31,000
Fremantle v Geelong (R1, 2012) - Per Only - 21,000
St Kilda v Geelong (R14,2009) - Adel 3,000, Per 4,000 (same game as shown in Melbourne last week)
Are you now counting the ratings from replays to try and get gold?
1. I count pretty much every sporting show on tv i can get data for
2. I report said ratings.
3. Im not the one who calls "gold" on anything.

Why would anyone call gold when they come second?

How can we twist numbers .
The numbers are what they are . RL wins.
Here I'll help
2>1
10,000>9,990
110,000,000>105,000,000
As shown by your post you just can't accept reality .

The afl gets more money due to having a longer game

The broadcast goes for 1/3 long than aRL game
More advertising time
Also more advertising due to breaks after a fumbler actually kicks straight . .
More ad slots
More $$$.
